It’s all about the data’s data

Kevin Kelly writes an excellent post that starts with Chris Anderson’s investigation of an old and quite misunderstood quote. The important thing in the future is not the data itself but rather the data about the data, the so called meta data. The meta data tells us how the real data moves, how it transforms and how we humans use it, respond to it and about a billion other things. It can also actually tell us things about the past and therefore also some things about the future. Very exciting, read it!
