Hacking tour

Posted on | September 5, 2009 |

Starting Thursday me and David will go on a (very) short hacking tour in Europe. It’s mainly two different events that has drawn our attention; EcoMo in London and Music Hack Day, The Sequel, in Berlin.

EcoMo

For EcoMo we have teamed up with Jorgé Zapico who is a PhD student at KTH and the centre for sustainable communication where he conducts research on the relationships between the society of information and sustainability. Jorgé is also a great Ruby hacker and together we plan to build a web application that educate people in how to live a more sustainable life. We will be in London from the 10:th until the 13:th so if you’re there, let us know!

Update: Both KTH and CFSC wrote about our participation earlier this week, check it out!

Music Hack Day

If you read this you probably already know about CitySounds.fm and how we built it in 15 hours at Music Hack Day earlier this year. Now it’s time for round two of music hacking and this time the location is Radial System in Berlin. It’s put together by the guys at SoundCloud and companies like Ableton, Echonest and Tape TV will be present. For this 24-hour hack we have recruited Leo Giertz who has been coding on both the Bambuser and the Spotify iPhone apps. And our project is, of course, to create a kick ass iPhone app for CitySounds.fm that let’s you stream music from cities. We think that it could be a great complement to ex. Spotify for the times  you want to listen to the newest music or catch the feeling of the city you’re currently visiting. Leave a comment if you want to be a beta tester!

We will be in Berlin for about a week (14:th to 21:st) so give us a shout if you want to meet up!

Nejdå, vi behöver bara ditt telefon id och sen drar du in den i iTunes. Men mer om det när vi är klara :)
